This was a combination of trying to be savvy and possibly grabbing a potential No. 1 wideout at great value. Some will say it was a desperation pick, and I won't argue, because if I had a stronger No. 1 option I would not have gone this route. At the time I was hoping TO would sign with the Washington Redskins where he could have made an immediate impact. No. 1 wideout Santana Moss would be a No. 3/slot receiver if he were on an elite team.

The Bengals signed Owens about a week after this draft was completed, and the big positive is that he has an incentive-laden contract, so to get paid he'll have to produce. I view him as a weak No. 2 better played as a No. 3 fantasy receiver. However, with Antonio Bryant and Ochocinco, we could see the Bengals' aggressive passing game of old if quarterback Carson Palmer's arm returns to form. A big if and too optimistic at this point, but anything is better than if Owens had signed with the St. Louis Rams. That would have been fantasy death!

10:9 WR Eddie Royal football jersey, Denver Broncos: Someone has to catch the ball in Denver! I don't care how much of a running team the Broncos field, head coach Josh McDaniels loves to pass. I'm hoping Royal does not become Michael Clayton, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout who had a solid rookie season only to become an afterthought in the years since. Royal is in his second year in the system, his starting competition is a nine-year veteran in Jabar Gaffney -who could win the No. 1 job – and the most physically talented players are both rookies in Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker. Let's not forget, top dawg Brandon Marshall has been shipped to the Miami Dolphins. Can a player ask for a better opportunity? Regardless, at this point in Round 10 I'm looking for players with an opportunity to break out, and he fits that category, especially in a point-per-reception league (PPR).

Others targeted: I really coveted QB Matt Ryan jerseys(Atlanta Falcons) as my No. 2 when I saw he was still out there. He was scooped up right before my pick! I also liked WR Devin Hester (Chicago Bears), WR Kenny Britt (Tennessee Titans) and WR Santonio Holmes (New York Jets), but all were gone, leaving me Royal.
